So sure, seeing ancient squares and cathedrals is nice, driving by Waterloo is interesting, but the small and mundane make us smile as well. J loves the pre-diced chives (20g for €0.99) and as the normally designated herb-chopper I have to admit they are quite convenient.
My personal favorite: the rosemary-scented dishwashing liquid. The first few times I used it were perplexing since I am used to the artificially sweet lemon or apple scents in les États-Unis. But now, I think I will be purchasing a bottle or two for the return home.

Ooohhh, I think a bottle of rosemary scented dishwashing soap would make great Christmas presents to your friends this year. :) Like you said, it's the little things....
